Protocol “Route Tolerance, Freedom and Peace” brings together Almeida, Belmonte and Carregal do Sal

On April 26, the Municipality of Almeida signed the Protocol “Route of Tolerance, Freedom and Peace”, with the Municipalities of Belmonte and Carregal do Sal. The Mayor of Almeida, António Machado, presided over the signing ceremony of the Cooperation Protocol between the Municipalities of Almeida, Belmonte and Carregal do Sal, within the scope of the creation of the Route of Tolerance, Freedom and Peace.

This protocol marks the beginning of a joint strategic partnership to promote and dynamize the spaces of Vilar Formoso Fronteira da Paz – Memorial to Refugees and Consul Aristides de Sousa Mendes, the Jewish Museum of Belmonte and the Aristides de Sousa Mendes Museum, thus strengthening relations between the three territories.

With this confluence of synergies, it is expected to attract new and diverse segments of the public, contributing to a greater dynamic of local tourism activity and sustainable development.
